The motif on this wonderfully green pail, was inspired by the Chalk Horse of the same name carved into the cliff above the Channel Tunnel, in Folkestone – where I was born. Designed by Charles Newington to mark the Millennium; he has kindly granted permission for me to use the design, for which I thank him.
The motif has been etched into the clay, giving a raised effect to the horse. I love this design – the feeling of movement in the horse is quite amazing.
Made from white earthenware clay and glazed with a gorgeous green glaze. The handle is driftwood to tie in with the coastal theme of the design.
Please note the pail is fired only to earthenware and so is not fully waterproof; I will provide an insert for use with fluids.
